The two artists had a brief back-and-forth on social media.
Lil Nas has words for Azealia Banks after she offered her take on the status of his career.
On social media, the chart-topping musician called out the Harlem rapper for saying he “fell off so hard,” and describing him as a “b**ch” with “NO BARS.”
“azealia i could never make a hit song again and you would still never in ur bussy soap selling chicken sacrificing botched body hating a** miserable life reach a 10th of my success,” wrote the 25-year-old on X in a now-deleted post.
“Love ur music btw,” he closed.
Banks responded with more shots of her own, saying Nas X is partially bitter due to her turning down a feature request. “U have no success ni**a, It’s giving buckbroke raceplay uncle Tom a** eater. Not u begging me to be on ur little trash a** song. U mad I declined. Booooooooooooo b****. Ur over.”
She also ranted, “U was out here with flies in the corner of your eyes eating a bowl of porridge with a swollen belly b****, saved you for 0.67cents a day head a** COME THE F*** AGAIN HO @LilNasX i will really smack fire out u b****. Sit down.”
Responding on Instagram, Lil Nas X turned down the heat by sharing Banks’ “Out Of Space” song and a kind-hearted message.
“sending u love azealia. wishing u nothing but guidance and clarity. i want u to chase ur dreams. get on ur shit,” he elaborated. “It’s the best time period in music for ur art to thrive. idc what u f**k sh*t u say about me. I wanna see u win and shine your light. u can drop this internet bully act at any time. Ur fans love u. we love u”
Still, Banks stood firm in her stance with harsh words and homophobic slurs toward the 25-year-old.
“Where, are, your, bars… we are not going to use patronization to circumvent the topic here…,” she wrote, quoting the Instagram message on X via Pop Base. “You’re a terrible lyricist with pedestrian musical sensibilities. We need to come to a consensus on where your talent is.”
The 33-year-old continued in a lengthy, separate upload, “I don’t think anyone in hiphop knows the lyrics to a single one of your songs and its clear that there is a ton of payola (the tap has clearly been cut off for you, LOL) involved because you’ve agreed to be an agent of destruction.”
A third message added, “When a real b**ch like me gives her opinion you shut the f**k up and sit the f**k down. Lil Nas X will ACTUALLY get Murked for what he’s done and should not take the graciousness in which many (including myself) have used to bury that evidence for granted. He absolutely better spit shine my f**king shoes. ¡AHORA!”
Earlier this month, the Grammy-winning artist hinted at his musical return. His last full-length release came in 2021 with Montero.
“GUESS WHOS FINALLY DROPPING NEW MUSIC NEXT MONTH ?!!,” he exclaimed, sharing a video of him dancing to an unreleased song. Check out the clip below.
