Lil Wayne’s Ex-Bodyguard Reveals Details of Alleged 2021 Assault After Rapper Claims Self-Defense

Lil Wayne’s former bodyguard who’s suing him for assault, detailed his version of events that led to the 2021 incident and what happened when the rapper allegedly pulled out a gun.

In Touch obtained court documents that reveal what Carlos Christian said went down at Lil Wayne’s home on the night in question.

Back in December 2023, Carlos sued Wayne (real name: Dwayne Carter), claiming the rapper committed a battery on December 2, 2021. He said that Wayne, 42, punched him on his ear while holding a semiautomatic rifle.

In court documents, he said that he was in fear for his safety due to Wayne having a prior history of firearm-related crimes. Carlos sued seeking unspecified damages from Wayne for his alleged physical and emotional harm.

Wayne denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

In a new filing, Carlos broke down what happened before the alleged battery. He said the rapper had been “well-acquainted” with him.

Carlos pointed out he had provided security for Wayne, Monday through Thursday starting at 6 p.m. nightly “for most if not all weeks starting in or about June 2021.”

He said his duties included “escorting professional and social visitors to the front door of the main house, where [Wayne] would greet the visitors.”

He said he also showed Wayne “how to operate certain functionality on an all-terrain vehicle (‘ATV’) [Wayne] had recently obtained.”

“[Carlos] is further informed and believes that he, being known to [Wayne], would or should not have mistakenly identified as an ‘intruder’ by [Wayne] but rather the security guard who was there most nights and who the Defendant had just moments before requested, through his estate manager ‘Lucy,’ to leave for the rest of the night.”

Carlos said Wayne accused him of taking pictures before the alleged assault. He said Wayne said, “Why the f–k you takin’ pictures, bitch a-s n–ga?” Carlos admitted he was armed but said he never drew his sidearm from his holster, “which was hidden beneath a loose sweater, and indeed backed up with [his] hands up and never even so much as reached for his firearm, even when [Wayne] emerged from the main house of the property wielding a semiautomatic rifle.”

In a separate filing, Wayne called out Carlos’ claims. His lawyer noted, “[Carlos] is much larger in stature than [Wayne], [Carlos] was armed with a gun, and [Carlos] shoved Carter during the incident.”

Further, his attorney said, “At all times after the alleged incident, [Carlos] was fully capable to continue working for Special Forces. Instead, [Carlos] opted not to return to work. Then, roughly four months later, [Carlos] continued working as a security guard for a different company, despite allegedly being riddled with “severe emotional distress” and PTSD from the alleged incident.”

As In Touch first reported, Wayne previously demanded the entire case be thrown out.

Wayne argued that Carlos did not suffer any injuries because of him. His lawyer added, “[Carlos’] claims are barred or reduced in whole or in part by [Carlos’] acts and/or negligence.”

Wayne told the court that his actions were done in self-defense.
