Lisa Vanderpump is reportedly being phased off of Vanderpump Rules. According to reports from the US Sun, LVP’s already reduced role is becoming even more minimalized for the show’s potential 12th season.
Although Lisa Vanderpump has acted as executive producer for VPR since the series’ 2013 premiere, the show has evolved away from LVP and her restaurant, SUR.
SUR Rules:
Vanderpump Rules began as a show about a restauranteur and her staff. Over the years, the SURvers became famous and no longer wait tables. Since the cast doesn’t work for Lisa anymore, finding a way to incorporate the show’s namesake has become difficult.
LVP was mostly seen chatting one-on-one with the cast in the last few years. But, she will get even less screen time in the future. “The show is currently on hiatus, but sources previously told The U.S. Sun that Bravo is still planning to greenlight at least one more season.”
Lisa’s role on VPR:
The author of The Unofficial Vanderpump Rules Ultimate Trivia Book, Thea de Sousa, claims Lisa Vanderpump’s role will be further reduced … if she appears at all! “I heard….Bravo has been trying to push Lisa Vanderpump out of the show.”
“First of all her paycheck, [the] number that she adds to the show, second of all, her relevancy, with the cast having moved on from her restaurants. For the past season, they’ve been trying to minimize her contact with the show. That’s Bravo’s doing. That’s nothing to do with the cast.
“So people are perceiving that to be Lisa distancing herself, and it’s not. It’s the other way around. It’s the show trying to distance itself from Lisa. She’s at like a guest star level now on Vanderpump. It’s a lot less money.”
