Love Island icon's autobiography flops after 'failing to sell 500 copies'

1 week ago 2

A Love Island legend is reportedly struggling to sell her autobiography, barely reaching 500 sold copies.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu has been plugging her autobiography, titled Be Your Own Best Friend, ever since it was released in August. Following her stints in reality TV, Ekin-Su went on a large press tour hoping to drum up sales for the book.

However, according to Amazon's book charts, readers have not been chomping at the bit to get a hold of Ekin-Su's book. Currently, the autobiography is sitting at a dismal 221,755th place in the rankings.

To add insult to injury, sources who work within the publishing industry have admitted that the book may be even worse than initially thought. Speaking to the MailOnline, the insiders have said that she may have sold less than 500 physical copies to an uninspired public.

Sources close to Ekin-Su have also admitted they are struggling to bring people in for book signings, which has only compounded her struggle to shift copies of the book. The source described the numbers for the Love Island babe as being "embarrassingly low".

"Releasing a book is always a risk, especially as her followers are very young and are unlikely to be into celebrity memoirs," they added. "But she cannot ignore the numbers, it's been a disaster."

A second insider added: "Ekin-Su has barely shifted any books, it's unlikely she's made it past the 500 physical copies mark. Her book signings have been an early indication the public weren't into it, as she struggled to attract numbers."

Ekin-Su is trying to rebuild her career after stepping away from the limelight

It comes as Ekin-Su tries to revive her career in the media after a devastating blow following her stint on Celebrity Big Brother in March. During the course of the show, viewers noticed a shift in her behaviour as she refused to talk about Love Island, even admitting that she wished she had never gone on the show.

Things only worsened for the star when she appeared to clam up during her exit interview with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best. After her time on the ITV reality show, she took some time away from the spotlight, admitting in an interview with Lorraine Kelly that she went into therapy to deal with the trauma of her split from Love Island hunk Davide Sanclimenti.

She is reportedly set to join the cast of Love Island: All Stars, despite reportedly being in a relationship

Ekin-Su is now trying to get back into the public eye, reportedly signing up for the latest series of Love Island: All Stars. However, according to sources, her place in the show may be in jeopardy after it was revealed she is already in a relationship.

The Daily Mail revealed that Ekin-Su is reportedly in a relationship with former MAFS UK star Georges Berthonneau, 31. However, Ekin-Su has not publicly acknowledged that she is dating, hoping to remain "publicly single" to secure her spot on the show.
