Married At First Sight UK star Polly has hit out at bodyshamers who made comments after Adam bought her lingerie on the show.

The star has shown off her weight loss since leaving the show but was appalled to see the disgusting social media comments made about her body. She told trolls they should 'be ashamed of themselves' as she posted a gorgeous mirror selfie wearing a blue lingerie set. In the snap, she stuck her middle finger up as a response to the trolls.

She captioned the post: "I've had a lot of positive comments about my weight loss (and many other positives) since the show has aired. But my God am I absolutely horrified off the back of last night's episode. I had absolutely nothing from the general public saying that I'm insecure with myself for weeks, and lo and behold, here you are making me all insecure of what I looked like. Body shaming and making someone feel insecure (no matter how they look now) who is already going through stress is one of the worst things you can do.

"When you body shame someone ONLINE and PUBLICLY others are listening. A friend with an eating disorder, someone struggling to lose baby weight, younger family members who have unrealistic body issues. Body shaming a person in the name of advising them to be a certain way or to make fun of someone's size, is a form of sarcasm, and mentally hurtful. I lost my weight for my own reasons and none of you know why. Body shaming leads to horrendous extremes in which I hope never happens to me because of this but I can assure you it definitely hasn't helped with how I feel about myself even after losing so much weight."

The star continued: "Being skinny is ok. Not being skinny is ok. Having curves are ok. Not having curves is ok. Bashing someone for their body is NOT OK. It is absolutely one of the most disgusting things you can do to another person. And doing it online is even worse. You should all be so ashamed of yourselves.

"The next time someone body shames anyone, just remember you're an AWFUL human being. So congratulations on making a young girl who's been vulnerable and herself on tv, feel like s**t all over again, so well done [kissy face emoji] Also PLEASE stop asking me how I lost the weight, this is another question I find really personal and I'm genuinely sick of saying the same thing. Her husband Adam bought her lingerie in the latest episode of the Channel 4 TV series. Their relationship had many ups and downs since they were matched, with Adam admitting she wasn't his type. However, they slowly started to grow closer as they weeks went on. Meanwhile, Polly recently revealed she has been working on her fitness since March this year and lost around two stone.
