Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz are shuttering the doors to their Los Angeles restaurant and bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s.
Just under two years after the venue was hit with poor reviews and calls for boycotts due to Sandoval’s sordid affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 30, and just over two years after its opening, the Vanderpump Rules cast members have decided to close Schwartz & Sandy’s for good.
“With a heavy heart, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Schwartz & Sandy’s at the end of December,” Sandoval, 43, announced in a November 24 statement on Instagram. “This hasn’t been an easy choice for my partners and me, but other priorities and commitments have taken hold. While this business venture has been an incredible stepping stone in my life, one I will always cherish, I look forward to exciting new endeavors.”
“To our incredible staff and everyone who supported us along the way, you deserve the true recognition. I can’t thank you enough for your endless commitment to making Schwartz & Sandy’s a place of everlasting memories,” he continued, adding that he and his staff would be hosting a series of events ahead of the restaurant’s closure on December 31.
In closing, Sandoval told his fans and followers that there is availability for parties and events in the coming month and noted that beyond the allure Pump Rules has brought to the venue, Schwartz & Sandy’s is a great local hangout.
“I highly recommend you check us out, especially if you haven’t yet. Let’s get together one last time,” he wrote.
With his own statement, Schwartz, 42, included a caption, adding he was “sad as hell” to be making the announcement regarding Schwartz & Sandy’s closure.
“I’ll do a more sentimental post down the road. Just wanna keep it upbeat and throw some parties to close out the year. Let me and [Tom Sandoval] host your events as we begin our farewell tour,” he shared. “I’m gonna be bold and leave the comments ON. Breathe X reboot. I have a cold Coors light [and] a Publix sub as I type this in Florida. We are gonna finish FUN. Book your events for our last hurrah.”
In his formal statement, Schwartz confirmed that he and Sandoval, along with their business partner Greg Morris, who spoke out against Sandoval after he cheated on Ariana Madix, 39, had made the decision to close their restaurant and bar after “careful consideration.”
“Let’s end this era on a high note and come on by, bring your friends, toast to the upcoming holidays and let’s manifest together a kick a** New Year,” Schwartz explained. “There’s some peace in knowing I gave my absolute all into S& S, fully committed with every fiber in my being. To all the patrons who came in [and] supported us, showed me love every single night I was in there, you kept me going through some of the harder times. We got to celebrate so many meaningful moments, birthdays, honeymoons, promotional events, the list goes on. Just know we are so grateful, sharing your magic with us has been a true honor.”
Schwartz also honored the staff of his and Sandoval’s venue, writing, “To our incredible staff who are like family to us, our friends and the many fans who have showed your support, we are forever indebted to you.”
Vanderpump Rules is on pause ahead of its potential 12th season.
