Man who went on 2000-person nude cruise reveals the strict rules everyone has to follow

A yacht full of naked men and women sounds dystopian, but it is very much real and with its existence begs a fair few questions.

Fellas will be all thinking the same thing - what if your winky wakes up? While I'm sure all the ladies will probably have a good laugh at the red-faced men.

There's no saying 'yeah I'll be there in a sec' while sitting down - or using any other tricks. Guys, I won't expose anymore secrets... Let's push on, we're here to talk about the 2,000-person nude cruise and the strict rules those onboard must follow.

To clarify, when we say 'nude cruise' we mean exactly that - a vessel where it's tackle out after casting off.

It might not be to everyone's taste, but it's clearly a hit as tour operator Bare Necessities posts pictures of packed ships - with the content of guests enjoying the time of their lives.

When can you take your clothes off on a nude cruise?

Okay, this shouldn't be a hard one to follow.

It probably comes as little surprise that you don't arrive on the ship in your birthday suit, you have to wait until it's steamed a certain distance out to sea.

A 67-year-old guest shared to Reddit how the captain will typically 'make an announcement' informing guests that they can now 'lower the sails' as it were.

One can only imagine the announcement - 'This is your captain speaking, you may now undress'.

So there you go - wait until you're at sea to undress, and absolutely no pictures. Seems fair.

Is photography banned on a nude cruise?

So that's one question answered, but about the concerns around safety?

The age of smartphones and social media has created the unsettling possibility that a holidaymaker could be snapped sunning their nethers, and the picture could end up on the internet without their consent, or potentially without even their knowledge.

While phones aren't banned or cameras covered up as they might be for certain kinds of party, guests know taking photos of other people without their consent is a no-no.

The man explained: "Everyone knows you can't take pictures of other people. I was much less worried here than I have been at nude beaches. Almost no one had phones with them outside their cabin."

He added: "I've spent time online researching nudism and I've never seen a single online photograph from the cruise except for the group shots that people voluntarily pose for. For those reasons, I wasn't concerned."

Does anyone keep their clothes on onboard a nude cruise?

Staff themselves remain strictly clothed the whole time, and are not 'obligated' to work the nudist cruises.

There are also places on the ship, such as the dining room, where clothing is still required.

He said: "After 6pm, there was a strange mix of nude, normally dressed, and women dressed in sexy clothes, like see-through blouses."
