Martine speaks candidly on the new Timotei podcast

Martine McCutcheon has opened up about the emotional rollercoaster she has been on throughout her life.

The popular actress spoke about her journey through the highs and the lows she has experienced in a new Instagram post. Taking to social media to promote a new podcast from shampoo brand Timotei Martine - who recently split from her husband - candidly spoke to the camera in her post as she confessed that she has had times where "normality feels hard and difficult to cope with."

She said: "I feel for sure that I've lived multiple lifetimes when it comes to my career and my life. That's a real blessing because things have happened to me that people would only dream of. But it's also been a life of extremes. And I would say that the kindest thing I've been able to do throughout those extremes has been to find the middle ground.

"Because you can feel like the highs are the most exciting thing in the world and you don't ever want to come down, and then when you do and you crash, normality feels hard and difficult to cope with."

Martine captioned the video: "In a life of extremes, finding my middle ground is everything. Inspired by the growing trend of gentle living, Timotei has launched ‘A Gentle Start: The Showercast’, a new podcast perfectly timed for your morning shower routine.

"Listen to my episode today, where I talk about my journey - from Love Actually to ADD, becoming a mother and the power of knowing you’re enough. Available now on Spotify, Apple Music, or wherever else you listen!"

The candid chat comes after the Love Actually star went her separate ways with her husband Jack McManus back in August. The couple had been together for almost two decades before deciding to split in what she called "his decision" as she shared the heartbreaking news with her fans.

At the time she wrote on Instagram: "After much thought and consideration, Jack has decided it's best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision. We are both so very blessed and grateful for our beautiful, 9 year old son Rafferty, who's happiness and welfare, has always been, and will continue to be, our number 1 priority."

Martine also imparted her wisdom about not being afraid to take life at a more casual pace and not to feel the pressure to follow anyone else's schedule when it comes to your life as she spoke on the podcast. She said: "If I could give anybody advice about living life more slowly or more generally, it would be to trust, trust that the world will still turn.

"You will still turn. You will still be successful. You will still be happy. You will still be busy. Whenever you want to be busy, you will still achieve things, but you will do it at your pace, not anybody else's, yours."
