Max George has revealed he will have urgent heart surgery today after being rushed to A&E last week.
The 36-year-old The Wanted singer looked weak as he posted a video to his Instagram stories. Giving worried fans an update, he said: "Just prepping for the operation now, I feel like s**t, but fingers crossed."
Sharing more news about his health condition a few days ago, Max told his 383,000 followers that doctors have found he has a 'block' in his heart. And he could need a pacemaker fitted to fix a problem with the lower part of his heart.
He explained: "I have a 2:1 block in my heart. Unfortunately my heart rate hasn't picked up at all in almost a week. Because of this, we don't have too much time to wait, so it looks like I'm going to be in surgery way quicker than the doctors first thought. I may even be home for Christmas!"
"The last few nights have been really rough, but I wanted to say that I'm absolutely humbled by all your messages of support. Both people I know and those I don't. It's given me a much needed boost and my family have been overwhelmed with support, which means more to me than anything," he continued.

Instagram)In the past, Max admitted he has had 'serious issues' with alcohol. But it doesn't appear to be the cause of his illness as he said: "We've cancelled out a few things, like alcohol for example. I've not had a drink for four-and-a -half years, so it's not that."
He added: "I've got an issue with the bottom part of my heart, it's called a block. Until I have further tests we don't know what's caused it. It's a bit of a mystery really, the hard bit is the waiting."
Max first revealed his health scare on Thursday, December 12, telling fans: "Yesterday I felt really unwell and was taken into hospital. Unfortunately after some tests they’ve found that I have some issues with my heart. I have a lot more tests to determine the extent of the problems and what surgery I will need to get me back on my feet. It’s gonna be a difficult few weeks / months… and Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t exactly what I had planned! But, as always, I’m surrounded with love and support by my wonderful partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends.. and I’m 100% in the best place."
Girlfriend of two years Maisie Smith - who is currently starring in panto in Canterbury - is said to be 'struggling' to cope with work demands and wanting to be by Max's side 24/7, but she can't as much as she'd like to.
A source said it was a “worrying and distressing time” for the couple, and said of 23-year-old Maisie: "All she wants to do is be by his bedside day and night, but she's committed to her panto show and doesn't want to let anyone down.” They told The Sun that Maisie was struggling with “juggling everything,” but was doing her best to spend time with Max during visiting hours and around her schedule. "Max is on her mind 24/7 and she wants more than anything for him to be better as soon as possible,” the source shared.
Despite her work and life conflicts, Maisie shared a photo of herself holding Max’s hand in hospital. She wrote on her Instagram Story: "Got to see my wonderful man today. Proud of you @maxgeorge." Max reshared the image, and added: "Thank you baby. I love you so much," alongside a love heart emoji.
