Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly might be off for good this time, a source exclusively tells In Touch days after news broke that the couple had split again.
“Megan and MGK have a very tumultuous relationship, so they could always get back together,” the insider says. “But this may have been the final straw for her.”
TMZ first reported on December 10 that the Transformers alum, 38, and the “Tickets to My Downfall” singer, 34, broke up while celebrating Thanksgiving weekend in Vail, Colorado. Sources told the outlet that the couple split because Megan found “upsetting” material on MGK’s phone. However, they did not specify what she found.
MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, reportedly left the trip early. He and Megan have not spoken to each other since then, according to the outlet’s sources.
A source exclusively told In Touch on Tuesday, December 17, that although it seems like the couple has called it quits for good, they may work things out for the sake of their baby, who is reportedly due to arrive in March 2025.
“Megan and MGK have officially split up, but some of their friends aren’t sure how long they’ll stay separated,” the insider said. “She loves MGK, but she feels that their relationship has run its course. She’s adamant about moving on, but as soon as their baby comes, MGK will be singing a different tune.”
The source continued, “Megan really tried to make it work, but she doesn’t fully trust him and that’s something she can’t reconcile with. Maybe he’ll change, the baby might be his wake-up call, but he has a lot of work to do to regain her trust.”
The insider concluded that Megan has “a big heart and definitely wants [MGK] in the baby’s life. Bottom line, don’t hold your breath that these two are done for good.”
Megan announced on November 11 that she and her self-proclaimed “twin flame” were expecting their first child together after they had previously experienced a miscarriage. Both the Jennifer’s Body actress and MGK are already parents, as she shares three sons with ex-husband Brian Austin Green and he shares one daughter with ex-girlfriend Emma Cannon.
“Nothing is ever really lost. welcome back,” Megan captioned her post, which featured a maternity photo where she posed nude while covered in a black substance, as well as a photo of a positive pregnancy test.
A source revealed to Us Weekly on December 10 that Megan and MGK had already “broken up several times since the pregnancy was announced.”
“This was just one of the bigger ones that people have heard about,” the insider shared. “Their relationship is so full of passion and that leads them to get back together over and over, but also to fight in the most toxic of ways. Their fights have gotten less intense now that MGK is sober, but they still have such a hard time having a stable relationship with each other.”
Megan and MGK first confirmed their relationship in 2020. The pair got engaged in January 2022, and they have since sparked split rumors multiple times. The Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen star revealed on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in May that she and MGK did briefly call off their engagement. However, she declined to share where their relationship stood at the time.
“I think that what I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption,” she said. “So, I think, as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se. What I can say is that [he] is what I refer to as being my ‘twin soul,’ and there will always be a tether to him, no matter what. I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow. Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain.”
