Meghan Markle has reportedly decided to appoint herself as CEO of American Riviera Orchard - after struggling to find anyone who matched her expectations.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, spent several weeks interviewing potential parties for the gig after unveiling the venture on Instagram nine months ago. However, it is understood no one came up trumps - until now, as Meghan has reportedly discovered the perfect candidate – herself.

It's quite the development in the saga, which comes after Meghan's US trademark application for the venture was rejected in the autumn. However, she's overcome this challenge to now appoint herself boss of the enterprise, it is understood. A source said: "She is the CEO of American Riviera Orchard."

American Riviera Orchard which will focus on home, garden, food and lifestyle wares. Its logo, though, caused further obstacles in September because, it emerged, the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) felt it was too intricate. It said: "The current mark description indicates that the letter 'O' appears in the mark. However, the letter is now clearly visible or highly stylized that it is unrecognizable as a letter. Furthermore, the description is incomplete because it does not describe all the elements in the mark."

But the Duchess of Sussex made the relevant tweaks and her brand is ready to sell cutlery, recipe books, tablecloths, napkins, jams and other kitchen ware. In the Instagram clip unveiling her new business, Meghan could be seen busying herself in a rustic-looking kitchen, arranging white and pink flowers and whisking something in a bowl.

There has since, though been a string of departures from Harry and Meghan's workforce. At least 18 have gone, with nine or more having left since the couple moved to California, US, according to the Daily Mail.

The development comes amid a PR expert's concerns a new documentary about Harry and Meghan could destroy hopes of a royal reunion. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are the focus of a new film, titled Harry - The Lost Prince, which is scheduled to air on Germany's ZDF network today.
