Multi-millionaire's 'dark time' after home invasion shook 'fragile' marriage

With RHOBH season 14 on the horizon, more and more of the show’s cast members are teasing some of the drama that fans can expect to see. The all-new episodes are set to arrive on Tuesday, November 19. Ahead of the hugely anticipated premiere episode, Dorit Kemsley details going through a “dark time” after a terrifying home invasion as well as a rough patch in her marriage.

Gearing The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans up for what’s to come this season, Dorit Kemsley, 48, says people are set to see a “different” version of her. She explains her change in attitude is “not unwarranted” and adds how her “kindness shouldn’t be mistaken for weakness.” The mom of two promises a “thrilling and exciting” season, “for sure.”

Dorit Kemsley ‘came out of a very dark time’

Three years ago, Dorit and PK Kemsley’s Los Angeles home was invaded.

Dorit was left with PTSD following the ordeal. The RHOBH star suffered another robbery a year later when her handbag was taken after being followed by three men, reports E! Online.

“You know, I came out of a very dark time,” she tells Us Weekly this November.

“Post home invasion it was really difficult and really dark and I definitely lost my voice and confidence and all of the above.”

She continues: “When I started to feel more like myself and confident and stronger and feel better, going into this season I was just… I was over it. I was over those who think they can walk all over you.”

“In marriage, in friendships, it was just very much, I felt very empowered.”

Dorit and PK’s marriage suffered

After the burglaries, Dorit explains how she and PK’s marriage took a knock.

The two announced they were separating this year. But, they seem to be remaining a family unit for their two kids, Jagger, 10, and Phoenix, 8.

RHOBH fans are yet to see all the season 14 drama play out. Ahead of the all-new episodes, Dorit sings “cool” newbie Bozoma Saint John’s praises and says she “bonded with her instantaneously.”

Dorit explains: “I was going through a fragile time, a sensitive, personal time, obviously with my husband. Funnily enough, the one that had known me the least was the most there for me.”

“It’s crazy,” she adds.

These days, it appears Dorit and PK are sticking together as they deal with their son battling a health issue.

This fall, the two were taking to Instagram to share how Jagger was on the mend after enduring “two surgeries is one week for a septic hip.”
