Outlander release photos of new season which sends fans into a frenzy

Outlander fans have gone wild after producers shared a first look at the new season.

Fans have been desperate for 'Droughtlander' for to be over, and now as the season seven part 2 is looming, show bosses have been dropping teasers on social media.

Taking to Instagram, streaming platform Starz posted an image of Outlander protagonists Jamie and Claire with the caption: "Seeing these two back at Lallybroch = all the feels."

The hit show is set to return to screens in November for the second half of its seventh series.

Fans have been eagerly anticipating the show's return, having waited since August 2023 for new episodes.

The first half of series seven ended with Jamie, Claire and Ian leaving the American Revolutionary War and making a a long-awaited return to Scotland. New episodes are expected to follow the couple's attempt to rebuild their life in their beloved homeland while their marriage is tested "like never before".

In a photo shared to almost 1.9 million Instagram fans, actors Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are seen holding hands and gazing over their shoulders, as Jamie's ancestral estate rises behind them.

Another image shows the pair embracing beneath an imposing stone arch on the Lallybroch grounds.

The images sent fans into a frenzy, with one user writing: "the nostalgia, my HEART! I can’t wait for the rest of season 7!!" and another challenging sceptics to "Name a greater love story...".

Fans gushed over the symbolism of a return to Lallybroch, which they claim has been a backdrop to key romantic milestones throughout the series.

One user wrote: "Them at Lallybroch is everything. the first place they said “I love you”, the place where they finally felt they truly belonged, their first home"

Whilst the return home is a sentimental victory for Jamie and Claire, their ancestral estate will quickly throw up new challenges for the couple, promising some tense episodes.

The show's executive producer Maril Davis told Digital Spy: "The second half is even more exciting – it's like the second half does not give you time to breathe."

He added: "There are so many ups and downs for everyone and so many life moments. I can't even put it into words – the second half is going to be even crazier than the first."

Outlander season 7 part 2 will stream from November 22 on MGM+ in the UK and Starz in the US.
