Pamela Anderson opened up on the scary incident

Pamela Anderson had a terrifying experience on a plane when she was mistaken for a member of the 1960s girl group, The Dixie Chicks.

The 57-year-old actress revealed that an irate man on the flight "tried to attack" her, believing she was part of the controversial band. Speaking on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, she recounted: "This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what this country's done for you? ' And I was like, ‘Oh, my God. What have I done? ' And then I looked back at him and he'd [growl at me].

"This stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack me. Yeah. And, it ended up, he thought I was a Dixie Chick. Remember that whole Dixie Chick thing? I almost got killed on a plane!"

The former 'Baywatch' star admitted that the incident left her feeling "slightly scared" to fly afterward, as she recalled turning around in her seat to see the man scowling at her. She added: "When you look back and he's like [scowling] at you. That was minor[though]! I was scared to fly after that!"

The 'Last Showgirl' did not specify when the incident occurred, but it is known that The Dixie Chicks faced backlash when band member Natalie Maines criticised then-President George W. Bush and the Iraq invasion during a 2003 concert in London.

Three years on from her initial comments, the 'Goodbye Earle' singer has stated that she "didn't feel that way anymore", but maintained that Bush wasn't "owed any respect" whatsoever.

Pamela's son recently spoke out on his opinion of the showbiz industry, too. Brandon Thomas Lee claimed it has taken his famous mum "years" to shatter the stereotype surrounding her. Speaking in a new interview, Brandon, revealed how he managed to help his mum, who he affectionately calls Pamela, to land the role of Shelly in the movie, The Last Showgirl. Brandon revealed that Pamela's former agent had refused to show his mother the script but she was instantly drawn to it.

"The reason I got involved, other than for various business reasons — my personal mission was to give my mom the opportunities she gave me as a child," he told Variety. He went on to add: "She would do anything for me, she showed up and was a very good mother and at a certain point in your life, you become a protector.

"I knew from a very early age that I was going to eventually be the one that put the stake in the ground for my family and rally around that."
