Piers Morgan was reunited with ex Good Morning Britain colleagues Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid as the trio got back together for a Christmas do.

Kate, 57, was with her two children, Darcey, 18, and son Billy, 15, as they attended Piers' annual star-studded festive bash. Fellow Good Morning Britain stars Charlotte Hawkins, Richard Madeley and Laura Tobin also made appearances at the party, which took over the Scarsdale Tavern in Kensington, London.

Former host of the ITV series Piers showed there was no ill-feeling as he posed for a seasonal snap with his former colleagues, as the sequin-filled showbiz party was in full swing. Kate looked glam in a dark violet co-ord with matching blazer and trousers, paired with a striped top, gold boots and a matching bag.

Outspoken journalist Piers, 59, has remained close with his former workmates, despite leaving GMB in dramatic fashion. On Monday 8 March 2021, he admitted he had a bad nights sleep and was "tired and agitated" by the time it came to host the show the following day on Tuesday.

He ended up storming off set when former colleague Alex Beresford "launched into a very personal attack" on Piers. That afternoon, Piers realised the situation was "more serious" than he had expected.

He tweeted about what happened, saying: "Oh s**t. This must be more serious than I thought. Mid-afternoon, Kevin Lygo, ITV's Director of Television, who I'd spoken to several times since yesterday, rang to say we were now 'on the cliff edge' and either I apologised, or I would have to leave GMB.

"And even if I did apologise, that wouldn't be the end of it. The woke brigade would keep coming for me, demanding I apologise for everything else they find offensive – which of course, is absolutely everything." Piers went on: "I called Kevin back, said I wouldn't be apologising, and we agreed I'd leave GMB with immediate effect."

Speaking about the hours after it had been announced, Piers wrote in his Mail On Sunday column: "My phone erupted like a firecracker. It's always very interesting to see who contacts you in such moments, or publicly supports you, and even more interesting to note who doesn't."

The comments he made were in relation to his long-running disapproval of Meghan Markle. Confirming what he fell out with Alex about, he wrote on Twitter: "On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on.”

He also admitted that he was shocked by Susanna Reid's statement, which she read out during the show on the Wednesday morning. She admitted they "disagreed on many things", one of which were his comments about Meghan Markle. Susanna described him as "outspoken, challenging, opinionated, disruptive broadcaster".
