Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt revealed the reason the group had to pull out of their world tour and Glastonbury Festival.
The girl group were a pop sensation that took the world by storm in the 2000s. The group - consisting of Nicole Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Kimberly, released their debut album, PCD, in 2005 and their second album, Doll Domination, in 2008 before disbanding in 2010.
A reunion tour and album was announced in 2019 but fans were disappointed when Nicole revealed in 2022 that the reunion was cancelled. In a recent interview, Kimberly opened up about what happened with the reunion plans. She said they were ready to rehearse for the world tour and their appearance at Glastonbury Festival but it all went in the bin when Covid-19 hit.
She explained to Mile Fly Club host Laura Hamilton: "Ultimately, we had the world tour and it was Glastonbury on the cards. It was going to be an absolute dream but then Covid hit and it was the Monday we all went into lockdown. It was the same Monday the girls that had been living in LA had flown over to start our first day of our three weeks rehearsals for our world tour.

All of them then had to turn around that day and fly back because they were esxpecially worried they weren't going to be allowed back into the country. A few of them even left their bags thinking they'd be back in a few weeks once this blows over."
During the podcast, Kimberly, who resides in the UK and presents the Hits Radio Throwback Show revealed why she and her bandmates, Carmit Bachar, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta and Ashley Roberts were often seen in the background and not taking on lead roles.
"She was put in that position way back when, with the label," she said of Nicole Scherzinger, who was the front woman of the band. She added: "Her management took leadership of the Pussycat Dolls basically. They wanted to lead with sort of a lead singer and the rest of us. They said its like a football team, you have a quarter back and you have the receivers. Nicole was the quarter back, which we were fine with. But soon, the spotlight should open... But the spotlight never did."
Kimberly bravely revealed that the fame and money didn't lead into the happiness that she had always imagined, resulting in her quitting the band. In 2022, Nicole told fans on Instagram the cancelled reunion and tour was down to "evolving circumstances." Kimberly previously discussed the cancellation and told the Mirror that there was 'a lot going on with Robin Anton - who created the band.
"Legal battles which has come to an end. Ultimately, I don't own the brand so I don't have any control over what happens next, I'm certainly in the driving seat of always being open and trying to keep things positive," she said. "I think ultimately, the Pussycat Dolls stood for a message of women supporting women and I continue to realise just how important that message is. I think it would be a real shame to go down as two women fighting against each other, rather than all the women coming together to support each other which is what I stand for."
