Melody Thornton appeared to throw shade at her former Pussycat Dolls bandmate Nicole Scherzinger after she appeared to endorse Donald Trump.
Fans of Nicole, 46, were left outraged when she commented on Russell Brand's "Make Jesus First Again" post on Election Day as they accused her of "coming out as a Trump supporter." Nicole's fans were furious when she added a thumbs up on Brand's post and asked where she could get the red hat - a take on Trump's infamous Make America Great Again caps.
Melody then took to social media herself sharing a famous picture of Ben Affleck smoking with a pained expression on his face on her Instagram Stories. She let the image do the talking as she posted the popular meme to her Instagram account.
Melody has always had a well publicised strained relationship with Nicole and fans were quick to suggest she was sharing the post aimed at her. One commented: "She always knew!" Another added: "Melody been a little down since election, let’s support the Queen that was always knew it" as a third added "Lmaooo im here for it."

A fan previously resurfaced the clip on X writing : "In honour of the Pussycat Dolls reunion, a moment for the time Melody Thornton went rogue doing ad-libs and Nicole Scherzinger was visibly raging." One fan commented: "To be backstage after this performance would have been so epic."
Melody later admitted how she struggled to be in Nicole's shadow. She told Lorraine: "The issue for me stemmed... she’s [Nicole] got this Christina Aguilera style ability and I thought my dreams were going to happen. Then the gears shifted hard. Nicole had been in two groups prior and she had all of this experience recording albums and so they said, 'We’re going to have Nicole do all of the recording, you’re going to have to learn and you’re going to have dance with the rest of the girls.'
"I wasn’t using my best asset... and people were getting to know me for something I didn’t do and I was the weakest dancer. It was just really challenging, it was tough. But we did have fun, but that’s your introduction into the adult world. For me, I'm primarily a vocalist and a lot of people don't know that and so I got into the group and they said 'you're gonna be dancing' and I was like 'I can't dance!' And it was a really difficult time for me so when it was over I was like 'great, next chapter."
The Pussycat Dolls reunited in 2019 and scheduled a string of tour dates which were ultimately cancelled due to Covid-19, however Melody did not join the reunion as founder Robin Antin said the timing "wasn't right for her."
