Quincy Jones' heart-wrenching final post to daughter before death aged 91

Music titan Quincy Jones, who died aged 91 over the weekend, shared a sweet birthday message to one of his daughters before he died

Legendary record producer, composer and songwriter Quincy Jones penned a sweet message for his daughter's birthday a day before his death.

The music titan died aged 91 on Sunday surrounded by his family. A statement from his family read: "Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him."

Quincy, who was married three times and had children with two other women, is survived by seven children - Jolie, 69; Rachel, 59; Martina, 58; Quincy III, 55; Kidada, 50; Rashida, 48; and Kenya, 31. A mere hours before his death, he took to his Instagram age to post a birthday message for Martina, who he shared with Swedish model Ulla Andersson.

Along with a sweet snap of Martina and Quincy smiling at the camera, the music icon captioned the birthday post: "Happy Birthday to my Tina Beena @martinafotos1!!. So proud to be yo papa! Big hug, I love you eternally," and added a purple heart emoji and a hand heart emoji.

Quincy's children include Rashida Jones, who stars in TV show Parks & Recreation. Another of his daughters, Kenya Kinski-Jones, is very well known as a model for Chanel, Stella McCartney, and Calvin Klein while Kidada Jones is also a model and an actress, even appearing in Jay-Z’s On The Run video.

Jolie Jones Levine, the star's eldest child, is out of the spotlight but has dabbled in acting while second daughter Rachel is a doctor. Meanwhile, Martina Jones is a successful model who splits her time between America and her mother’s home country of Sweden.

Quincy’s only son, Quincy Delight Jones III, followed his father’s footsteps, becoming a music producer and has worked with artists like Dr. Dre, Tupac and Ice Cube during his career. Quincy was surrounded by family when he died but it is not known which of his children were by his side.

The music titan married three times, first to a high school sweetheart named Jeri Caldwell for nine years until their split in 1966 when he welcomed a daughter called Jolie. A year after the split, he married Ulla Andersson, and the two welcomed two children before splitting in 1974. He then married Peggy Lipton and welcomed two daughters. Quincy also shares children with two other women.
