Report: Kroy Biermann Considering Filing for Bankruptcy Amid Kim Zolciak Divorce

1 week ago 2

Real Housewives of Atlanta and Don’t Be Tardy alums Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann still aren’t divorced. They still owe virtually everyone and their mom an ever-growing mountain of money. Their Milton, GA McMansion of chaos still sits on the market after over a year with no takers.

The at-odds estranged couple’s hurricane of financial ruin has been swirling for a while now. Court documents show that Kroy began seriously considering filing for bankruptcy just recently. What took so long?

In Touch obtained court docs showing that Kroy is racking up legal bills as he and his attorney research bankruptcy options. Kim and Kroy – who had a divorce trial set for this month – owe money to many, from Target to the tax man.

As of October 17, Kroy owes $79,000 to a law firm for work related to his divorce and financial crisis.

An invoice from Kroy’s lawyer shed light on where Kroy’s head seems to be right now. One of Ryan’s invoices to Kroy includes $18,100 for bankruptcy research.

The firm billed Kroy for three hours of bankruptcy discussion in August. In September, Kroy and his lawyers talked pros and cons of bankruptcy. They also had a call about “bankruptcy strategy” on September 10.

Kroy and his attorney spoke for three hours again about potentially filing on September 11. On the 14th, they chatted about it for another hour and a half.

Interestingly, Kroy was billed $2,000 on September 26 for his attorney “watching Kim in Surreal Life and noting her mention of divorce or disparaging [Kroy].” On the show, Kim and seven other celebs lived together and were forced to confront hard truths. She also took the opportunity to get flirty with Chet Hanks.

It’s surprising that it’s taken this long for bankruptcy to enter the chat, considering Kim and Kroy’s dire finances. Their house selling before it gets foreclosed upon doesn’t look promising, either, so it’s probably way past time to get the bankruptcy ball rolling.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Don’t Be Tardy stream on Peacock. The Surreal Life streams on Paramount+.
