Dorit Kemsley clapped back after Garcelle Beauvais addressed a fan questioning why Dorit disclosed PK Kemsley’s alcohol issues “5 minutes” after meeting newcomer Boz Saint John. Dorit defended her choice to reveal the information, and she shared why she did it.

On the season 14 premiere of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit told multiple people that her husband, who she recently separated from, is an alcoholic. The disclosure seemed abrupt with Boz, but the newbie listened to Dorit with compassion and understanding.

On Threads, Garcelle responded to a fan asking, “Why is Dorit telling someone she just met 5 minutes ago that PK is an alcoholic?”

Garcelle then wrote, “Ok?!!!!”

Soon after, Dorit clapped back.

“Hm… if you followed PK, you’d know he’s been very open, honest, and brave about his alcoholism and journey with sobriety. Something I am incredibly proud of him for,” wrote Dorit, via @therealityrundown on Instagram.

She then praised her friendship with Boz.

“When you have an immediate and genuine connection with someone whom you just met and they make it super easy to open up to them… the result is two women bonding over difficult times in their lives,” she said, “and the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

Back in June, PK revealed that he’s been sober for six months.

“On Father’s Day the greatest gift I can give my 5 kids is to remain sober,” he wrote on Instagram at the time, sharing an image with the words “Twelve Steps” at the top. “Grateful and proud to say this weekend I am 6 months … Happy Fathers Day to all you great dads out there doing your best.”

In the season 13 reunion, Dorit, who was still with PK at the time, addressed their marital issues.

“PK was drinking a lot and he’s a drinker. I just think that it’s very difficult to have clear-headed conversations when he’s drinking so much, so he gave up drinking,” said the star, via PEOPLE. “That was a very pivotal moment, so things are — knock on wood — as good as they can possibly be.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Tuesday nights on Bravo.
