RHOC’s Ryan Boyajian ‘Proud’ of Friend Going Through ‘Very Real’ Legal Drama

The Real Housewives of Orange County finale was extra dramatic for Jennifer Pedranti. Her fiancé, Ryan Boyajian was temporarily named in an alleged gambling scheme. He was granted legal immunity in the case since then. And is seemingly out of the woods in terms of any legal wrong-doing.

But his bookie friend, Matt, is still having to deal with the case. And Ryan shared words of support for Matt and his family during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Jennifer appeared on the October 31 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Ryan. He was there to support his yoga-studio owner fiancée, but also answered Andy Cohen’s questions about the case.

“You know, I have to be honest, Andy, this happened to Jenn and I over a year ago from my closest friend,” Ryan explained. “And [he] and his family are going through something very real and I’m proud of him for taking full ownership and responsibility.”

The severity of the situation hit Jennifer and Ryan hard last year. Certainly, the RHOC star was reeling from the news when it was caught on camera for Season 18.

“But, when it came to light for Jenn and I from, let’s call it a media standpoint, it was definitely tough… It rocked our world,” he added. “Because I had already gone through, let’s call it, two different conversations I had had regarding my friend Matt, and then from there, six months later, it hit the news. And that was tough for Jenn and me.”

Ryan’s source of income seems to be a recurring query for the RHOC cast. Jennifer explained it to her co-stars, but there was still those left skeptical. The man himself addressed the issue during WWHL.

“My job hasn’t changed,” Ryan revealed. “I’ve been in the real estate mortgage finance world for the past 20+ years. I’ve done real estate development for the last seven years solid, so some of the commentary questions Jenn and I have a good time with.”

“You still check on someone,” Jennifer said of the costars that did not reach out

Not all of Jennifer’s castmates reached out after the news hit. She told Andy that it was “surprising” that two key players did not contact the mother-of-five to check on her.

“I think what was surprising for me is when this actually happened, I had actually gone to lunch with Gina [Kirschenheiter] and Emily [Simpson], and I had told them, like we knew this article was coming out, we knew it was coming,” Jennifer said. “And then the article did come out, and for Ryan and I, it was shocking the way that it read.”

“I think what was surprising was I heard from everyone — like even if we’re in a bad spot, if something big like this happens, you check on a friend. And Tamra [Judge] and Emily were the two that I didn’t hear from,” she stated. “I just felt like, ‘Wow, you know, with everything going on, right or wrong, or if we are involved or not involved, like you still check on someone.'”

The Real Housewives of Orange County is available to stream on Peacock.
