Who Is Rosie O’Donnell’s Son Parker O’Donnell?
The comedian adopted her first child, son Parker, shortly after he was born on May 25, 1995. Rosie was initially a single mom, but Parker was later adopted by Rosie’s first wife, Kelli Carpenter, before the former couple married in 2004. Rosie and Kelli split in 2007.
“He used to say, ‘Did I grew in your tummy?’ and I said, ‘No, you grew in my heart,'” Rosie recalled to Access Hollywood in 2010 ahead of the premiere of her HBO documentary, A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O’Donnell Celebration. “He said, ‘Well, it feels like I grew in your tummy,’ and I said, ‘You’re right, it does feel like you grew in my tummy.'”
“I said, ‘You know, you grew in someone else’s tummy and God looked inside and he knew that you were going to be raised by a different mommy. God picked me, and your birth mommy listened.’ And he said ‘Yeah, ’cause me and you, we’re a good match,'” she continued.
“But we are a good match and he knows this and I’ve told him already [that] he’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me in my entire life and I’m forever grateful he is the boy who changed it all,” Rosie gushed.
Parker attended Valley Forge Military Academy before joining the Marines. “He chose on his own. He actually begged to go to a military academy. And I was like two years of ‘No way,'” the Flintstones star told Access Hollywood in 2011.
“Truth is, since he was a little boy, that’s his area of interest. The same way I love [Barbra] Streisand and Bette Midler and entertainment, he can tell you any general in any war, what kind of tanks they had, what the battles were like. So I finally gave in and truthfully, he’s excelling and he’s very happy,” Rosie admitted.
While a panelist on The View in 2014, Rosie joked, “How do you annoy your left-wing, liberal, pacifist mother? You become a big military man.”
In addition to his military career, Parker became a certified mixologist in 2016 after attending the Academy of Professional Bartending School. He shared new of his accomplishment via Instagram.
As of 2021, Parker was in a long-term relationship with girlfriend Hannah. Rosie shared a photo of the couple in October 2021, writing in the caption, “Happy 7th anniversary to parker n hannah.” It’s unclear if the pair are still together.

Rosie and Kelli adopted Chelsea as a baby following her birth on September 20, 1997. The former talk show host and her daughter have been estranged at times over the years amid Chelsea’s brushes with the law.
In 2015, Rosie pleaded for help after then-17-year-old Chelsea went missing. She was located by New Jersey police a week later at a 25-year-old man’s home. Rosie’s rep said that Chelsea had mental health issues and stopped taking her medicine.
Chelsea claimed her adopted mom kicked her out of her home once she turned 18. She moved to Wisconsin to be near her biological mother, Deanna Micoley. “Growing up, I never really got along with her [Rosie] and then once she kicked me out, I was just kind of done,” she told Inside Edition in 2017. “I miss the rest of my family a lot but I think there is some much-needed space between me and Rosie. It’s been nice having that.”

In Touch exclusively broke the news on October 18, 2024, that Chelsea had been arrested the month prior and was charged with four felony counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, child neglect, possession of methamphetamine and possession of THC. Prosecutors also charged Chelsea with two misdemeanors: disorderly conduct/domestic abuse and possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs,
“Sadly, this is not new for our family – Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade,” the O’Donnell family told In Touch on October 19, 2024. “We are all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease.”

Blake was born on December 5, 1999, and became the third child adopted by Rosie and Kelli.
While Blake lives a private life, Rosie has shared updates about him on social media.
“Dropped off my boy at college. Hard to believe,” she wrote as Blake was about to start his collegiate studies at New York’s Marist College in 2018.

Kelli gave birth to Vivienne on November 29, 2002, after becoming pregnant via artificial insemination.
Rosie shared that Vivienne graduated from high school in a June 24, 2021, Instagram post where the teenager alongside the American Gigolo star’s longtime best friend Jackie Ellard.
