Happy Valley's Sarah Lancashire is back on the beat.

The actress plays a no-nonsense cop in a brand new Yorkshire Tea advert, who is just like her iconic Happy Valley character Catherine Cawood.

In the promo clip for the beloved teabag brand, Lancashire is seen investigating the case of some missing biscuits. Sarah has admitted that she is “thrilled” she got to take on the officer role for the silly scenes.

The hilarious clip begins in the Yorkshire Tea office, where one employee accuses their co-workers of stealing their biscuit stash. No need to fear - Sarah Lancashire here to find out whodunnit.

After doing the rounds and interrogating the workforce, Sarah is shown scouring through CCTV footage in a back office. To everyone's surprise, the security cameras show the original accuser scoffing the biscuits herself.

After confronting the sheepish office worker, another calls for help regarding a missing stapler. Sarah makes eye contact with the camera and speaks into her walkie talkie: "All eyes on a red stapler - I repeat, all eyes on a red stapler!"

To close out the advert, a red Yorkshire Tea branded golf buggy is shown speeding away from headquarters, complete with red and blue lights and a police alarm.

The official Yorkshire Tea YouTube channel uploaded the video and fans of the Happy Valley actress rushed to share their praise down in the comments. One person typed: "Fabulous! Perfect match… Sarah Lancashire and Yorkshire tea. Love em both!"

"Brilliant! Off to make brew before I sit down and enjoy," wrote another excited Lancashire fan. Someone else added: "So if you want something done proper in Yorkshire you bring in Lancashire."

"Amazing, the golf cart with the blues and twos at the end is chef's kiss," gushed another fan of the collaboration.
