The 2024 season just got a little better for the No. 1 golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler.
Scheffler keeps adding to his collection of trophies. The PGA Tour announced on Tuesday that Scheffler has won the Jack Nicklaus Award as the PGA Tour Player of the Year for the 2024 season, and it wasn't even close.

Scheffler won 91 percent of the vote from players. Xander Schauffele came behind Scheffler, who won two major titles this season, the PGA and Open champion. Schauffele became the first player to win two majors in a season and not be voted player of the year since the award began in 1990.
Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan shared a statement on the New Jersey native winning the award.
"On behalf of the PGA Tour, congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on a truly historic season," said Monahan. "Scottie took on challenges from the best players in the world on the biggest stages all season, and being honored as PGA Tour Player of the Year is the ultimate sign of respect from his peers."

Scheffler was presented the award just two days after becoming the winner of the Hero World Championship, an unofficial event that marked his ninth win of the year.
Not only did Scheffler win this prestigious award, but he became the first player to win the award in three consecutive seasons since the one and only Tiger Woods did so from 2005-07.

Scheffler, Woods, and Rory McIlroy are the only three players to win the award three times or more. Since the inception of the FedEx Cup in 2007, nine players have won the FedEx Cup and Player of the Year in the same season.
This award caps off Scheffler's incredible 2024 season that saw him win seven Tour events, including the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and the season-long FedEx Cup title.
This isn't the only award Scheffler has won; he also won the Byron Nelson Award for the second straight year for having the lowest scoring average. Scheffler is winning on and off the course, earning more than $60 million in official earnings and bonuses outside of the awards.
The 28-year-old is just getting started.
