Sean Combs' children gathered to wish him a happy birthday as he spent the day in jail.
The troubled music mogul, who was arrested in September this year on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering - allegations he has vehemently denied - was refused bail and is expected to stay behind bars until his trial starts, which isn't anticipated until May next year.
On Monday, the 'I'll Be Missing You' singer marked his 55th birthday in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. A report revealed the modest meal options he was offered for his birthday, a far cry from his previous lavish celebrations.
His children called him to wish him a happy birthday. The star is father to Quincy, 33, Justin, 30, Christian, 26, Chance, 18, twins D'Lila and Jessie, 17, and one year old Love.

Justin shared a video clip on Instagram on Monday of the siblings around a table with a birthday cake, their father on the phone, reports the Mirror.
In a heart-warming clip, little Love took the lead in serenading with a rendition of 'Happy Birthday', melting dad's heart as Combs gushed over his brood, revealing his anticipation to reunite with them.
Alongside the footage, Justin captioned: "Happy Birthday Pops, we love you! " This sparked a flurry of comments from Justin's followers, raising eyebrows over the seriousness of Combs’s alleged offences, while others expressed empathy for the children caught in the dilemma. One commenter praised their unity: "One thing he did was teach them to stick together!"
Following the public outcry after Combs's arrest, his children banded together to issue a heartfelt statement to People magazine: "Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiralled into absurdity on social media."
Their collective message underscored their solidarity: "We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU and LOVE YOU DAD. Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, Jessie and D'Lila."
Amid the turbulence, Combs has vehemently refuted all allegations of criminal activity.
His legal representative previously told the Mirror: "As Mr. Combs' legal team has emphasised, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus. That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation."
