For her appearance at the 2024 annual Academy Museum Gala, Selena Gomez opted for a navy suede Alaïa halter gown. This halter dress featured an exposed leather bustier that created a plunging neckline. Moreover, it showcased a classic revival of the peekaboo bralette trend. The velvet fabric and the navy hue of the Alaïa gown were accompanied by a short train that gave Gomez’s outfit more depth.

According to WWD, fashion stylist Erin Walsh assembled Selena Gomez’s look. Meanwhile, the “Emilia Pérez” cast member accessorized herself in Tiffany & Co. jewels, including statement silver bracelets and earrings. Hairstylist Marissa Marino gave Gomez a slicked-back hairstyle that let the gown shine and complemented the gown’s elegance.

The singer completed her look with a smoky eyeshadow, a glossy pink lip, and a darker-toned mauve blush. Makeup artist Hung Vanngo combined the singer’s Rare Beauty products to attempt the look. Lastly, nail artist Tom Bachik gave Gomez a cosmic silver gloss manicure that enhanced the Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

Interestingly, Selena Gomez’s ensemble at the gala marked a significant shift from her previous business-like outfits for “Emilia Pérez” promotions. For the SAG-AFTRA Foundation screening of the movie, the actor opted for a business spin on Nensi Dojaka’s LBD, which was designed like an oversized blazer. She accompanied the outerwear with Francesca Miranda’s white Cata Cotton Dress.

Meanwhile, some of the other best-dressed celebrities who made iconic fashion statements at the gala include Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Kim Kardashian, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Ariana Grande, and more.
