A soap star has been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing five teenage boys.
Police raided the home of the male actor, who has not been named, earlier this month over historic paedophile claims. The allegations date back to the 1990s, a time when the actor was starring alongside some of Britain's most famous actors in well-known TV programmes.
It's said the suspect was held by authorities for several hours after being arrested at their home before being released on bail. His family, including his partner, are said to be shocked by the sex abuse claims, which he has denied.
A police spokesperson confirmed to The Sun: "Officers investigating allegations relating to the 1990s detained a man."
"He was arrested on suspicion of several sexual offences relating to five men who were teenage boys at the time of the alleged offending. He has been conditionally bailed while enquiries continue."
Police reportedly seized computers and documents while raiding the actor's home in search of evidence of the alleged abuse. The actor was then arrested on suspicion of sex crimes against the five underage boys, who are now adults.
Police were seeking evidence relating to the alleged abuse of five victims by the unnamed soap star.
