Strictly Come Dancing stars enjoy their 'favourite show ever' after Wynne Evans axe

Strictly Come Dancing stars gushed over their 'favourite show' following Wynne Evans' axe from the live tour.

The GoCompare advert star, 53, and opera singer last night confirmed that he was quitting the ongoing nationwide tour after he became involved in another scandal. It came after it was revealed he made a hugely demeaning remark at Janette Manrara during the launch in Birmingham.

When Janette walked over to the group. He sang out: "Go Compare," before adding: "Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick]." He then used vile term "spit roast" in reference to a lewd sexual act. He later issued a grovelling apology but was later removed from the remaining live shows.

On Tuesday 28 January, the Strictly stars swept the drama under the rug as they took to the stage in Liverpool to perform without Wynne. Professional dancer Nancy Xu took to her Instagram Stories after the show to re-post a fan video of her on stage. The caption read: "Fave show."

Last night, Wynne issued a statement confirming his departure and the true reason behind his decision to step back from all public roles, including his BBC radio show. "I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing," he said in a statement.

He continued: "I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me."

Speaking previously to the Mirror, Wynne said: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise." Following the incident, the BBC revealed that they had warned Evans about his behaviour. A spokesperson for the Strictly Live Tour and BBC Studios said: "We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour."

After it was confirmed he was axed from the shows, his dance partner Katya Jones took to her page to share a message of support for him. Taking to Instagram, she shared his statement on her Stories and added: "Let's show humanity and consideration. I will miss you my darling boy."
