After last week’s twist ensured that the original five Tuku members had to vote out one of their own, the post-merge scramble was well underway on season 47 of Survivor. The Wednesday, November 6, episode put old and new alliances to the test.
Sol’s Secret
Rachel received a stroke of luck last week in the form of an advantage from Sol that allowed her to leave tribal council and avoid being targeted by the five Tuku members whose team she was randomly put on in the immunity challenge. However, no one else knew that Sol was the one to find the advantage and gift it to Rachel.
Back at camp, Sol revealed his secret to Rachel in hopes of forming a secret alliance with her. He urged her not to tell anyone else that he was the advantage-giver because he didn’t want to put a target on himself. Meanwhile, Sam filled Rachel in on the old Gata members’ plan to work with the old Lavo members to target the remaining Tuku castaways, as Sol formed a connection with Kyle.
The ‘Survivor’ Auction Is Back in Season 47
The following day, the players found out that the Survivor auction was back. In order to have money to bid in the auction, they had to race and find bamboo tubes of money in the jungle. Andy struggled with this and did not find any money, while Sierra came out with the most. Jeff Probst reminded the players that the person with the most money left at the end of the auction would lose their vote at tribal council. He also revealed that there would be 15 total items in the auction, but only five guaranteed. A number picked out of a hat — that was not seen by the castaways — decided how many additional items would be offered.
Sol spent $60 on potato chips and soda to kick off the auction. Teeny bid all of her money — $640 — on the second item: macaroni and cheese. Item No. 3 remained covered and Sierra took it for $800. Jeff revealed it to be chips, salsa, guacamole and a margarita. The next prize was kept covered and Kyle bid $560 to win it, despite being a vegetarian and running the risk of there being meat on the plate. Kyle won a plate of chicken wings, celery, carrots and dressing, and since he was so hungry, he ate meat for the first time in years.
Gabe bid all of his money on the next covered item, which Jeff offered him the option to trade for a second covered item. He stuck with the first option … which was a coconut. At that point, any item going forward could be the last. Sol bid the rest of his money on item No. 6 — an apple pie. However, the dish also included $60 cash back, which could potentially hurt him later.
Rachel had the most money left at that point, so she spent all $500 on the following covered item, which she was thrilled to find was a burger and french fries. While enjoying the food, Rachel also noticed a tiny scroll of paper in her french fries.
Keep refreshing because we’ll be updating this live blog all episode long …
