It's the end of an era. The era.
On Friday, October 18, Taylor Swift kicked off the final leg of her Eras Tour, on which she first embarked in March 2023. As the tour has taken over Swift's life for nearly two years, fans have been anticipating that she's going to close out this chapter with a bang.
A lot has happened since the Eras Tour first kicked off. Swift has dropped two Taylor's Version re-recordings of her albums — 2010's Speak Now and 2014's 1989 — as well as her entirely new 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. The Eras Tour has also gone on to be the highest-grossing concert tour of all time.
In between the music, Swift entered a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, with whom, she had been spending much quality time in the days leading up to the tour's final leg.
As is par for the course, Swift delivered on many surprises and Easter eggs upon the Eras Tour's most recent show. Here are some of the changes she made the tour ahead of its wrap.
New Songs
During the October 18 concert, the setlist remained the same as that of the previous leg. However, Swift performed two mash-ups for surprise songs. One of the mashups was composed of "This Is Me Trying" from her 2020 album Folklore and "Daylight" from her 2019 album Lover. The other mashup contained elements of her song "Tim McGraw" from her 2006 self-titled debut album and "Timeless," a vault track on Speak Now: Taylor's Version.
Cut Songs
It did not appear that Swift removed any songs from the set list during the October 18 concert.
New Outfits
During the show, Swift debuted some a new outfit, — a black bodysuit with metallic snakes. Swifties believe that this outfits may have been callbacks to her 2017 Reputation era, hinting that this may be next up in her Taylor's Version series.
When Does the Eras Tour End?
The Eras Tour will continue through Sunday, December 8, when it will wrap in Vancouver, Canada.
Reliving the tour
On Friday, November 29, Swift will release The Eras Tour Book, featuring 500 photographs from the tour, as well as never-before-seen behind-the-scenes images. Swift will also release the full version of The Tortured Poets Department called The Anthology on vinyl and CD. Both the book and these album editions will be available to purchase at Target stores.
Additionally, fans can currently stream the tour film on Disney+ and Prime Video.
