Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp’s estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, has responded to her divorce filing and revealed a prenup, In Touch can confirm.

The Colombia-born TV personality, 47, filed his own dissolution of marriage paperwork in Los Angeles on Friday, November 8, according to court documents obtained by In Touch. Edwin listed their date of separation as November 1 and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split after 13 years of marriage.

Edwin requested joint legal and physical custody of his and Teddi’s three minor children, Slate, Cruz and Dove.

The Skyline Security Management CEO also claimed that he and Teddi, 43, had a prenuptial agreement which outlined their spousal support terms, as well as the division of property. He asked that the prenup be enforced.

“Pursuant to the parties’ Premarital Agreement, all assets, income from all sources, and obligations of each party are his/her separate property, except as specifically set forth therein,” the court documents read.

Edwin also stated that attorney fees and costs would be determined between him and his ex.

TMZ was the first to report the news of Edwin’s response to Teddi.

The Bravolebrity first filed her divorce papers on November 1, according to court documents obtained by In Touch. The estranged spouses had a few differences in their filings, including their date of separation — Teddi listed the date as October 20.

Additionally, instead of joint legal and physical custody, Teddi requested primary legal and physical custody of Slate, 12, Cruz, 10 and Dove, 4, with “reasonable and frequent” visitation being granted for Edwin. She also asked for spousal support but requested the termination of Edwin’s right to support. Lastly, Teddi requested that Edwin be financially responsible for all attorney’s fees and costs.

Teddi announced her decision to divorce her husband via social media on November 2.

“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” she wrote on Instagram. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”

The mom of three continued, “Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward.”

Teddi and Edwin met in a Hollywood nightclub in 2009. “I was tricked a little bit because when I first saw Edwin, he had a beanie cap on,” she told Yahoo! Lifestyle 10 years later. “And then when I saw him the next morning, the beanie was off and there was a ponytail hanging out the back. I thought after that night that that was just one of those [stories] that you tell your girlfriends, ‘Maybe I’ll hang out with him one more time.’”

The former couple tied the knot two years later in a July 2011 ceremony in Indiana. They went through a rough patch in their marriage when Teddi joined RHOBH season 8 in 2017. She was ultimately let go after season 10 of the reality show.

“When we first started, I remember my first day honestly it was like ‘F–k, at what point do I tell everybody that I’m getting a divorce? Like when do I do this?’” Teddi recalled during a March 2023 episode of her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. “We are at our worst absolute phase, because truthfully, for us, it was really about a power struggle.”

She added, “We were always kind of equals when we were together. I rode horses, I was competitive and I was all these things. Then I couldn’t get pregnant naturally, I did all these IVFs. Then, all of a sudden, he was in charge of our finances, and I had never been that. I never not had my own money, I had been working since I was 17. Then I just started hating him.”
