Following Michele Fitzgerald’s victory against Nia Moore, three more players were sent home after a purge challenge and male elimination on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras. The battle lines were cemented as Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio and Tori Deal’s alliances continued to go head-to-head on the Wednesday, November 6, episode.
Who Won the Daily Challenge on ‘The Challenge’ Season 40, Episode 12?
This week’s challenge was a “mini final,” which was also a purge, meaning that the last place male and last place female would automatically be eliminated. Going into the challenge, Bananas, 42, Nehemiah Clark and Jordan Wiseley were the targets after Michele, 34, selected them following her elimination win.
The challenge required the players to race to a checkpoint and dig to find a key that they would then use to unlock a paddleboard for checkpoint two. After paddling one mile, the competitors had to run up a hill and complete checkpoint three, which was a memory game. Upon completing the difficult game in the blazing heat, the final leg was a sprint to the finish.
Tori, 31, won the challenge for the women, while Kyland Young was victorious for the men.
Who Was Sent Home in the Purge on ‘The Challenge’ Season 40?
The two players that lost the mini final were Nehemiah, 38, and Laurel Stucky, which meant they were automatically sent home in the purge. Meanwhile, Michele and Theo Campbell each came in second-to-last, which meant that Michele would get a penalty at the next challenge and Theo, 33, was automatically going into elimination.
Tori and Kyland, 33, had to decide who would be going against Theo. Since Nehemiah was already eliminated, the choice came down to Bananas and Jordan, 34. Considering Tori used to be engaged to Jordan and was playing against Bananas in the game, it was an obvious choice.
Who Was Eliminated on ‘The Challenge’ Season 40, Episode 12?
The elimination challenge required Theo and Johnny to use poles to try and block their opponent’s path through a narrow cylinder. In each round, the men had one minute to navigate through the poles and make it out to the other side. One player then played a game of “high/low” with T.J. Lavin. If he won, he would get to insert two more poles in the next round, while his opponent could only insert one pole, but if he lost, it was the other way around.
Eventually, the time was cut in half so the men only had 30 seconds to make it through the cylinder. Despite Theo’s lanky height, he put up a good fight, but Johnny was ultimately victorious and Theo was eliminated.
Who Did Johnny Bananas Choose as Targets on ‘The Challenge’ Season 40, Episode 12?
This left Johnny in control of choosing who the next targets were. Once again, Tori was off the table since she won the daily challenge, so he chose Michele, Olivia Kaiser and Cara Maria Sorbello, since he wasn’t working with any of them in the game.
