Gladiators: Bradley Walsh hit in the face with a shoe

Bradley Walsh is embarking on another career move with a new documentary series on Sky. The Gladiators host is set to explore ancient history in a new direction, and the show will likely air later this year.

The English presenter is fronting television programmes such as The Chase, Gladiators, Blankety Blank, and Breaking Dad on ITV and BBC, respectively.

According to The Sun, an inside source said: “This isn’t necessarily the field of expertise most viewers would imagine him having, but he is obsessed with this chapter of ancient history.

“He’s just thrilled to have bagged a documentary where he gets to indulge the great passion, even if it doesn’t quite fit in with his current line-up of shows.”

The three-part documentary will follow Bradley as he travels across North Africa and will take a closer look into ancient civilization’s biggest mysteries, with the help of expert Egyptologists to provide commentary.

ITV and BBC have been contacted for comment by Express Online.

In similar news, Alison Hammond has also announced another career move despite already hosting three major TV shows. The Birmingham-born star is set to team up with her son Aidan on a new travel series on BBC Two.

It was reported last summer that Alison had been offered a big money deal to front a BBC travel show titled Florida Unpacked. Before she shot to fame on Big Brother, Alison had previously earned a living as a travel rep.

In addition to hosting duties on This Morning, Alison co-hosts The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4 alongside Noel Fielding. She joined the show in 2023 after comedian Matt Lucas departed.

It doesn't stop there as Alison also fronts the British reality documentary series, For the Love of Dogs, on ITV. She filled in for Paul O'Grady following his sudden death in March 2023.

Alison is a fan favourite on This Morning. She always appears as a co-host on Friday mornings alongside Dermot O'Leary. She became a leading presenter in 2021 and previously joined as a reporter in 2002.

Bradley has been on our TV screens for 30 years and is one of Britain's most-loved entertainers. He ventured into showbiz in the 1980s and landed minor roles in a few TV dramas such as Night and Day.

In 2004, he landed the role of Danny Baldwin in Coronation Street and departed the show two years later. Bradley was then offered to host The Chase in 2009.
