The Voice US star Ryan Whyte Maloney has died at the age of 44, it has been confirmed.
The singer-songwriter died by suicide, with a coroner confirming the sad news to People.
He was a musician for years, but found fame on another level when he auditioned for the American version of The Voice back in 2014.

He auditioned in front of judges and mentors Usher, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Maroon 5's Adam Levine.
His audition was successful; he turned four chairs, got a standing ovation from Levine and Shelton told him: "He could potentially win this thing.''
"I freaking love it," Shelton added about his voice, noticing how Maloney could sing high notes.
The father-of-two then chose to go on team Blake for the competition.

Shelton, 48, has yet to comment publicly on his former contestant's shock death.
"Y'all will never know how f'ng (sic) scary this was to do hah," Maloney said in a recent Instagram post sharing a video of his audition.

Just days ago, on January 17, the TV star celebrated his birthday and shared a post with followers.

"I'm overflowing with gratitude for the lovely birthday wishes and affection I received today. Your kindness truly warms my heart. Thank you a million times over!" he wrote.
He added about what appeared to be a gig in Las Vegas: "Time to party like it's my birthday. Let's decide if we'll make memories or just pretend it didn't happen."
After news of his death came out, fans flocked to comment on one of his last posts on his Instagram account.
"Lucky to get to see him at @olered in Vegas, We loved him, he was so nice and fun! so sad! 💔💔💔💔," one follower commented.
Another added: "I'm heartbroken. We saw you Friday. You never failed to entertain."
