Drew Barrymore isn't afraid to get up close and personal with people she comes across and it's worked wonders for her in the past.
Heck, it is still working for her - it's helped the once child-actor score her own talk show but her touchy-feely style of hosting didn't impress veteran TV personality Martha Stewart.
Drew Barrymore welcomed Martha Stewart on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday (The Drew Barrymore Show)
The 83-year-old was invited on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday to promote her new cookbook Martha: The Cookbook: 100 Favorite Recipes with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen.
Incredibly, it is the culinary icon's 100th book that she's written and published. The blurb read in part: "Martha Stewart celebrates her landmark 100th book with an intimate collection of 100 treasured recipes and the memories and stories behind them."
But while on the show the model-turned-cookbook-author had a rather awkward encounter with the 49-year-old host who brushed up next to her on the ginormous couch while biting her finger.
Barrymore asked her guest what makes her feel 'soft and gooey?'.
You could see it was making the grandma-of-two, and mom-of-one, uncomfortable. She replied: "Soft and gooey... treatment."
Before touching Stewart's shoulder and repeating her guest: "Soft and gooey treatment. When you’re treated like a lady.”
The host then began slowly rubbing the businesswoman's arm and back after Stewart replied: "Yes, it's nice."
The whole ordeal was a bit cringeworthy if I'm completely honest - but I wouldn't say it's either Stewart's or Barrymore's fault... they're just two completely different people.
Stewart then gave the audience a look as if to say 'what on Earth is going on here' before pushing the host away from her after joking: "You're the wrong gender!"
While it was awkward to watch it was hilarious at the same time!
Barrymore responded to Stewart by yelling: "I know!"
It isn't the first time Stewart has been in the lime light in recent weeks while promoting her latest cookbook.
Speaking on the Bilt Rewards Rent Free game show she shared exactly what she though of her neighbor Ryan Reynolds.
While appearing as a special guest, the model-turned-cookbook-author was asked a bunch of questions about her celebrity pals and acquaintances.
The 83-year-old was asked to name who she thought the show's viewers believed would be the most fun to hang out with - instantly naming her good friend Snoop Dogg.
She then guessed Reynolds as she assumed people think he's funny, before explaining that she very much does not.
“He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face — Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?” she said.
She then proceeded to go in on the Deadpool actor.
“And you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life,” she added. “No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”
Later in the show, Stewart further explained her savage opinion about Reynolds.
“He’s a good actor,” she claimed. “He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again."
“I’m going to get in trouble,” she added. “He’s my neighbor.”
