Buyers at web retailer Amazon will now be able to add something a lot bigger than spatulas and footballs to their cart, they can now purchase a Hyundai at more places than before. At the CES show in Las Vegas the company explained how customers can now order a Hyundai in 54 markets, up from 48, which it says represents 71 percent of its sales.

At Amazon Autos buyers can now do everything from browsing new Hyundai vehicles from local dealers in their preferred model and color. They can get valuations for their trade-in vehicle from a third party and secure financing on the site as well. Finally, they can schedule a pickup time with a local dealer.

Amazon partners with local dealerships in these markets and provides all-inclusive pricing from the dealer, which means no haggling over cost.

Why It Matters

Hyundai was the first automaker to put its cars on Amazon back in 2023. The company says it's always looking for ways to improve the vehicle purchasing experience and that this collaboration will allow customers to complete every step of the purchase through Amazon's trusted shopping network. Hyundai says these types of sales represent the future of automotive retail.

What to Know

Hyundai won't be the only automaker to sell vehicles on Amazon. The website sees about 300 million visits per day across the globe buying everything from kitchen utensils to circuit boards to gardening sheds. Amazon says it will expand with other automotive brands in 2025.

New markets where a Hyundai is available include Charleston–Huntington, West Virginia, Detroit, Johnson City, Tennessee, Las Vegas, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Traverse City, Michigan.
