Tom Brady’s Reaction to Gisele Bündchen’s Surprise Pregnancy Shows How Far They’ve Come Since the Divorce

Earlier this week, the world was shocked to find out that Gisele Bündchen was pregnant with baby number three. After all, while Bündchen and her boyfriend Joaquim Valente have been going strong since the summer of 2023, we weren’t necessarily expecting baby news from the mother of two anytime soon.

But while the world might’ve been surprised, it seems Bündchen’s ex-husband Tom Brady was quite taken aback too. According to new sources for Us Weekly, the former NFL star was “shocked” when he first heard the news but is “ultimately happy” for her.

“It was hard to digest at first,” the source said of Brady’s reaction. “He knows Gisele is a great mom and was destined to be a mom.”

As a reminder, Bündchen and Brady, who were married for 13 years from 2009 to 2022, share kids Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.

In their divorce, while they settled all their legal matters rather quickly, it was clear that Bündchen and Brady didn’t end on the best of terms. So, now that she’s moved on and is starting a family with someone else, it’s heartwarming to see them be able to support one another in the new chapter.

According to the source, it was also important for the Brazilian model to tell Brady before the news hit the headlines. “When Gisele told the kids about her pregnancy, she made sure to let Tom know as well,” the insider said. “This happened a few months ago. She wanted to give him that courtesy and knew the kids would tell him either way.”

Knowing how distressing it could’ve been to learn the news online, we’re applauding Bündchen for taking the initiative.

With that said, sources told Page Six that the exes aren’t too close either. “I think they talk when they have to,” the insider told the outlet. “Tom does his best for the kids and puts them first and that’s all that matters — he’s trying his best.”

As a reminder, People broke the news of Bündchen and Valente’s first child together with a brief statement on Oct. 28. “Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and they’re looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family,” the source told the outlet.

From the looks of it, this blended family is growing with plenty of support and maturity between them, Brady and all!
