Gisele Bündchen is excited to be starting a family with boyfriend Joaquim Valente, but Tom Brady is still reportedly reeling from the unexpected news. Even though the 47-year-old athlete was informed ahead of the media blitz, Brady didn’t really see the 44-year-old supermodel taking such a major step in her relationship. And let’s be honest, this is big.
Brady’s reaction might have something to do with the reported family goals he had with Bündchen during their 13-year marriage. They shared son, Benjamin, 14, and daughter, Vivian, 11, and his son Jack, 17, from his relationship with Bridget Moynahan, but a Page Six insider is claiming that the former duo was “open to having another child during their marriage.” While it wasn’t “something they were actively trying to do,” it seems like it was on the table for discussion.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers still appears to be in his feelings after the pregnancy news was shared with fans. On Monday, Oct. 28, Brady posted a sunset snapshot on his Instagram Story with The Chicks’ cover version of Fleetwood Mac’s hit single, “Landslide,” playing. The song’s lyrics wistfully reminisce about the changes and challenges that life brings about.
Last month, a different Page Six insider divulged that Brady was “stunned” after his ex revealed her next chapter in life with Valente. Tom knew that things were serious between Gisele and Joaquin, but he never imagined they would be having a child together,” they said. “It just wasn’t something that was on his radar.” What might be throwing Brady off is Bündchen’s revelation in the September 2022 interview with ELLE where she shared how she was ready to tackle the next stage of her career — and she wanted her then-husband to take the lead at home.
“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Tom]. I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams,” Bündchen explained. “Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career—it makes me happy.” Still, she was ready for Brady to step up — and it seems that he failed to do that — which led to their divorce in 2022.
Brady might be having a case of the “what-ifs” with his ex and he’s not shy about sharing it with his fans. Hopefully, he will take that learning experience into his next relationship.
