Tom Holland Says He Didn’t “Know Anything About” Christopher Nolan’s Next Film Before Signing On

Tom Holland is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s next film, and although he’s excited to be working with the Oscar-winning director, he doesn’t know what it’s about.

“It hasn’t started shooting, to be perfectly honest with you. I don’t know anything about it,” Holland said on Tuesday’s episode of the podcast Dish.

Holland continued to explain how the film’s details are under wraps: “I’m super excited. Everything is very, very hush-hush. I met with [Nolan]. It was awesome. He kind of loosely pitched what it was, and I’m sure when he’s ready he’ll announce what it is.”

In addition to Holland, other stars who have signed onto the project include Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron.

Holland and Zendaya have previously starred together as love interests in the Spider-Man movies. They have also been dating off-screen for the past couple of years. Holland said it’s a “saving grace” to work with his girlfriend.

“Yeah, best thing to ever happen to me,” he said. “It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with or I know that she doesn’t particularly like and it’s just that familiar glance at each other of like, can’t wait to talk about that later.”

Nolan wrote the script and will direct the project, which Universal Pictures is distributing. He’s also producing alongside his partner and wife Emma Thomas. Production will supposedly take place in the first half of 2025.

The untitled project will be released in theaters on July 17, 2026.
