We’re shocked but… not surprised?
As you may have heard, Donald Trump recently pardoned his followers who stormed the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021. They beat cops and threatened legislators, including his own VP, all in an attempted insurrection to keep their leader in power. Now one of those model citizens is wanted for a completely different crime — soliciting a minor online. Sigh.
Andrew Taake, a 36-year-old Texas man, took part in the infamous storming of the Capitol 4 years ago. According to the US Attorney’s Office, he attacked police officers with bear mace and a metal whip. Nice guy, we’re sure. But despite that, he managed to flee for months — until he told a woman he met on dating app Bumble about what he’d done. According to Law & Crime, she informed the FBI and he was arrested six months later in July 2021. Last summer, he was handed down a 74-month sentence, one of the longer ones — clearly not just a mob follower but a real attacker. But he was released on January 20 of this year — the day Trump took office and issued the pardon.
And he’s ALREADY wanted again.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Texas confirmed on Friday that Taake is wanted for the crime of soliciting a minor online in 2016, five years prior to the January 6 insurrection. He had already been on a pretrial release when he breached the capitol. Prior to Trump’s pardon, the Harris County Fugitive Warrants Division requested authorities hold him in custody due to his outstanding warrant, according to the Harris County DA’s Office via People. But no such thing was done. A statement to the outlet reads:
“Although a clerk faxed a copy of that warrant on Jan. 15, Taake was released five days later, in accordance with President Trump’s pardon order. Re-arresting individuals, like Taake, who were released with pending State warrants, will require significant resources. Know that we are already in the process of tracking Taake down, as he must answer for 2016 charge of soliciting a minor online.”
What a massive waste of resources and time… Feds already HAD this criminal in custody! And just let him go…
According to court records obtained by the Houston Chronicle, Taake, who was 27 at the time, allegedly solicited someone he “believed to be younger than seventeen years of age” for sex. That’s horrifying… And now because of Trump, he’s back on the streets, whereas he would’ve remained in prison until 2027 if he hadn’t been pardoned, with a supervised release until 2030.
Just awful… It’s going to be a LONG four years if these are the guys Trump is helping out… while ignoring the price of eggs.
Thoughts??
