WCW Star Addresses Surprise Return to Jail

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, pro wrestler Buff Bagwell addressed that he was surprisingly going back to jail.

"Today, I'll explain and it's important for people to know that, first of all, I am the best I have ever been in my life," Bagwell said. "I feel great, I'm doing great, two-and-a-half years sober, just closer to God than I've ever been, best relationship I've ever had in my life with Stacy Brown.

"And in my life, those three things, I think those three things are crucial and they have been perfect. But today, I'm going to have to go to jail at 5:00 p.m. January 27, 2025, Marcus Bagwell will be going to jail."

According to Bagwell, he was going to jail due to "a violation of the rules in his accountability program," per Bill Pritchard of Wrestle Zone.

More than anything, Bagwell wanted to release the video to let everyone know that he would only be in jail for 72 hours a "jail sanction" and that he hasn't broken his sobriety.

"A sanction means you've done something wrong, you've violated rules," Bagwell said. "It could be community service, it could be bench duty, it could be a fine, a sanction fine. Mine is called a jail sanction."

"But again, it ain't gonna say, 'Marcus Bagwell got arrested today for violating program confidentiality rules.' It's not going to say that. It's going to say that I got a DUI and the world is going to think that I relapsed."

'That's what this video is for, to let everybody know that I'm in a great place... this is just a little pause, a little crack in the road for me. This is nothing, but I don't want people to worry."

This isn't the first time this has happened to Bagwell. It was also reported that he was arrested in July and November 2023.

"Still sober despite the reports - unfortunately whenever I get a violation in the DUI Court Program it lists my original offense from 3 years ago," Bagwell said on social media. "I did serve 24 hours for losing my temper Thurs-Fri and I'm working keeping my cool every day."
