It takes a lot to forget what you have done wrong in your three marriages, but Kody Brown is going for the record. For ten years, the Sister Wives star has slowly pushed his first three wives away but still finds the time to blame them. His lack of compassion has stooped even further in the newest episode, thanks to his lack of accountability. However, not enough short-term memory loss in the world is convincing Janelle Brown or Meri Brown that Kody doesn’t know exactly what he did.
Kody Brown wants to forget the past
In a recent episode of Sister Wives, Janelle called her ex-husband out for conveniently forgetting details of their breakup. While in his TLC confessional, Kody made an extremely bold claim that he married women he didn’t love. Obviously, once could be a mistake, but he married three women, and the story isn’t adding up. The 55-year-old tied the knot with Meri in 1990, Janelle in 1993, and Christine Brown in 1994, so fans think the patriarch knew what he was doing. During the show, Kody tells cameras, ‘I’m guilty of marrying people I wasn’t in love with.” However, Janelle, being the ball breaker she is, doesn’t waste a moment to call out the father of 18. Kody’s third wife literally laughed at him noting she thinks he has “amnesia” when it comes to his three failed marriages.
Janelle pulled back the layers, noting, “I just think that he has amnesia when it comes to the past because you just can’t keep up that kind of pretense for 20 years.” The mother of six was stoic and factual as she shared with Sister Wives fans, “I know what happened. He can say whatever he wants. It’s fine because I just don’t care anymore.” Fans recall that Kody always had a soft spot for Janelle, so his lack of love storyline didn’t add up.
Meri Brown thinks Kody Brown is being a big baby
Meri, the most recent wife to have left Kody, has been standing up for herself. In her confessional, she shared, “This is Kody’s current theme, and that is that he never loved me or Janelle or Christine.” Sister Wives fans could tell that Meri was annoyed with Kody’s game. She added, “It’s getting to the point that it’s annoying. Gosh, Kody, just man up and be honest.” But most viewers know Kody isn’t capable of being honest and would rather keep his head buried in the dirt.
The episode showed Kody showing up to help Meri move out of her home. The offer had a motive since Meri’s helper was one of Kody’s best friends, and he wanted to look like the good guy. However, Meri finally held Kody’s feet to the fire as she told him, “I know that I put everything that I could into it, and I would still put into it, but I also know that it’s not something that is comfortable for him or right for him or good for him, and that’s not fair to either of us.”
There is no excuse for Kody Brown’s bad behavior
As hard as he tries, Kody will never be able to outrun the truth. All the polygamist can do is concentrate on how the three marriages didn’t work out. He told TLC cameras, “It’s still sad when it doesn’t work.” Instead of owning up to his part of the problem, Kody doubled down. Angrily, he added, “I don’t always know what to believe. The eternal marriage. … Jesus said not to get divorced, but it’s, it’s a big concept.” Kody has been struggling with his religion for years as he has felt betrayed.
But the only one who has blame to shoulder is Kody. In my opinion, if he just told himself the truth, he could free himself from his inner purgatory. Instead, he chose to lash out again at his ex-wife. Kody ended the episode by noting, “I don’t know what to think about it other than it offends me to think that I would be stuck with those three women. It literally does it. It’s like it offends me to think that God would cause me or them to suffer.” What a gem, right?
