Wynne Evans expresses concerns over Rumba routine on BBC Strictly Icons Week

Wynne Evans, the face of Go Compare, has openly expressed his worries about the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing performance.

The singer and his dance partner Katya Jones were in the spotlight after a seemingly awkward on-air interaction, which they later clarified as an inside joke.

The pair are now focusing on their next challenge: a Rumba to Dame Shirley Bassey's 'This is My Life' for the show's Icons week. On 'It Takes Two', Wynne shared his concerns: "Rumba I'm enjoying but I don't know if I'm doing it right. I've got concerns about the hips. The hips, the hips, the hips."

Katya reassured fans, commenting: "The hips are getting looser. Wynne's got beautifully shaped long legs so if we can put the legs with the hips, it'll be perfection. Can we get there by Saturday, who knows?"

In a candid Instagram Q&A, Wynne also discussed his rumba jitters, saying: "I don't know. I don't look at what's coming up. I just have to focus on getting through this week. I'm now the oldest and the fattest, so the fact I've made it this far is incredible."

"Just focus on this week and getting through this week and then we'll see if I'm there next week. There's a lot of hips in the rumba, I may have actually discovered where my hips are", reports Wales Online.

In other news, Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts have pieced together clues about Amy Dowden's future on the show after she was hospitalised during last Saturday's live broadcast.

The BBC professional dancer, who suffered a health scare, will be temporarily replaced by Lauren Oakley, who is set to dance with Amy's celebrity partner JB Gill this coming weekend.

Fans of the hit dance show are buzzing with excitement as Lauren hinted at her upcoming role on Strictly in an Instagram story.

The Birmingham-born dancer teased she would be elsewhere by the end of the week as she said: "Guys! It's been a bit busy..." before reassuring her followers that she would still be teaching her class on Sunday, saying, "BUT I'm still teaching my class THIS Sunday and would love to see you there.."

A Strictly Come Dancing spokesperson has confirmed Amy's improving condition and expressed her happiness that Lauren could step in for rehearsals and Saturday's performance for JB Gill's Couple's Choice routine, stating: "Amy is doing much better. She is delighted that Lauren is able to step in for rehearsals and to perform in Saturday's show for JB Gill's Couple's Choice dance."

The show's team remains optimistic about Amy's return, with the spokesperson adding: "We are all hopeful that Amy will be back to dance with JB next week."

Strictly Come Dancing resumes on Saturday on BBC One.
