Patrick Bet-David, a minority owner of the New York Yankees, recently shared his thoughts on the high-profile divorce between NFL icon Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
Bet-David attributes the separation to the unique challenges that arise when two strong, high-profile personalities enter a relationship. In his view, the couple's dynamic-what he describes as a pairing of two "alphas"-may have led to ongoing tension.
Bet-David's perspective focuses on Gisele's larger online following and greater financial assets compared to her ex-husband, hinting that these differences might have impacted the couple's dynamic.
"I think she thought she was bigger than Brady," Bet-David said. "Go on Instagram. Who's got more followers? I think it's probably her. I think she probably thinks, 'I'm more famous than you.'"
Social media and financial independence as influencing factors
The differences in fame and wealth between Brady and B?ndchen are evident. Currently, Gisele has around 23 million Instagram followers, while Brady has about 15 million.
Beyond social media, Gisele's estimated net worth stands at $400 million, almost double Brady's $250 million, a factor that Bet-David believes may have empowered her decision to move on.
Although Bet-David has his theories, the actual reasons behind the separation remain private. In a Vanity Fair interview from March 2023, Gisele called the divorce the "death of a dream" and stressed that she holds no resentment toward Brady.
She portrayed the split as a difficult but necessary decision to pursue a future where both could prioritize personal growth.
Bet-David speculates that Gisele's financial independence allowed her the freedom to re-evaluate her life choices. Given her solidified global presence and substantial wealth, she likely felt she could afford to make such a life change, he suggests.
New relationships and family responsibilities
In the aftermath of their divorce, both have begun new chapters. Gisele has been seen with her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, with the two now expecting a child.
Meanwhile, Brady has maintained a quieter public persona regarding his personal life. Currently, he is focused on his career as a lead analyst for Fox Sports and his role as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
While he has been linked with various women, including Irina Shayk and Kim Kardashian, nothing has been publicly confirmed.
Despite their separation, Brady and Bundchen remain committed to co-parenting their children-Vivian, Benjamin, and Brady's son Jack from a previous relationship.
