Yankees Steal $177 Million Rival Infielder In Shocking Free Agency Prediction

Alex Bregman has quite a decision to make in free agency. He could return to the Houston Astros, but those two sides seem very far apart on a deal. Plus, the Astros recently brought in third baseman Isaac Paredes as well as third base prospect Cam Smith.

The Detroit Tigers are another team that has been rumored to be in on Bregman. Detroit was a contender last season after the front office sold at the trade deadline. Adding a veteran third baseman would work wonders for the young Tigers team. But it's hard to imagine the Tigers affording Bregman if he priced himself out of Houston already.

Possibly the most popular answer at the moment is the New York Yankees. The Bronx Bombers whiffed on Juan Soto but have since brought in Max Fried, Devin Williams, and Cody Bellinger. While these three, notably Fried, have been expensive additions, the Yankees need to add an infielder. Adding Bregman at third base allows them to slide Jazz Chisholm over to second base.

The Boston Red Sox also make a lot of sense. They could add Bregman at third base and slide Rafael Devers over to first base. This move allows them to move first baseman Triston Casas in another blockbuster trade. Boston hasn't spent much money this winter and it could be free to send $200 million to the Astros legend.

With the Red Sox, Astros, Tigers, Yankees, and other teams in pursuit, Bregman is going to have a tough decision to make.
