Countryfile presenter Jules Hudson took to Instagram on Remembrance Day to share a heartfelt reflection on his time in the military.
The English archeologist and presenter is best known for his role on BBC programme Escape to the Country. He is one of the show hosts tasked with helping city-dwellers search for a new home in a rural area.
However, not many people know that he was part of the NATO Battlegroup just a few years ago.
As people around the UK remembered fallen British soldiers this weekend, Jules joined in with some thoughts of his own.
He told followers: "It’s hard to believe that it’s now six years ago that I served briefly with the NATO Battlegroup in Estonia over the winter of 2018/19.

"It’s still there, working hard in sub zero temperatures to defend NATOs Eastern frontier.
"Spare a thought for our troops this Remembrance day who are doing all they can to support our Baltic Allies against the backdrop of the grinding tragedy of War in Ukraine."
Followers flocked to the comments to express their surprise at discovering Jules had once been part of the combat-ready group.

Another exclaimed: “Jules!! Who knew. You are full of surprises.. excellent message. My dad flew spitfires as a Canadian and one of his training fields was Charmy Downs near Bath. Remembrance Day is always important to me and I hope everyone…”
A third added: “Wow didn't know that Jules...bless you.”
