Davina McCall's partner Michael announced this morning that the former Big Brother icon is undergoing surgery for a brain tumour.
The 56-year-old will be "off-grid" while she recovers from her procedure, with the Your Mum, My Dad host explaining that she has a 14mm wide cyst. Although she confirmed the tumour is benign, she said that the risk of it growing means she will need to have it removed.
In the clip, Masked Singer judge Davina said she is in "good spirits", with hairdresser Michael joining her for the light-hearted explanation, joking that the good news is, her parting will stay in the same place following her craniotomy. The pair announced that Michael would keep Davina's fans updated while she is recovering, following an estimated nine days in hospital after the operation.
Although they largely keep their relationship private, Davina and Michael Douglas, 49, have been together for five years, after both split from their ex partners. Davina was married to Matthew Robertson for 17 years, with the former couple sharing three children, Holly, Chester, and Tilly.

davinamccall/Instagram)She and Michael first met when he styled her hair during her Big Brother days and the pair remained good friends until they realised they had feelings for each other. They went official in 2019 and in January 2023, Davina confirmed that Michael had moved into her home over Christmas 2022, with the pair watching the King's Speech together along with Davina's sister Rebecca.
On their Making The Cut podcast, Davina admitted: "I am quite enjoying as a new couple doing new things, because we are newly living together. It's quite nice making new traditions because we did that before Christmas, we sat down together and talked about it: 'Ok, blank space, what shall we make tradition from now on?'"
But despite living together, they aren't interested in marriage, saying they are "happy" as they are. In an interview with The Sun, she said 'no' twice when asked if they plan to get engaged, explaining: "That’s not even on the table, it’s just not. He’s been [married before] so we both just feel like we are happy, let’s not rock the boat. Let’s just keep things on the down-low. We’re not interested. I knew Michael for so many years [before we got together] that there were no questions to ask like that. I know him. It was easy."
She shut down any more speculation, saying "I loved Michael" and that theyre relationship is "too precious" to be in the public eye", adding she wanted "to keep it for me".
But Michael will be taking the reins from Davina on social media to keep fans updated on her progress and recovery. In the video posted on Instagram, she explained: "Hi, so I’m posting this it will be Friday (15.11.24) morning. I’m posting it because a few months ago I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare.
“Three in a million! So I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons, I got lots of opinions. I realised that I have to get it taken out. It’s big for the space – it fills the space. It’s 14mm wide. And it needs to come out because if it grows it would be bad.”
