EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal has teased "lots of drama" and "high stakes" as the cast gear up to celebrate the BBC soap's 40th anniversary.

The popular show first hit our screens in February 1985 and bosses have revealed plans to mark four decades on air with a live episode - but this time there's a twist, as viewers will get to decide the outcome of one storyline.

For the first time in EastEnders history, the anniversary week will feature an interactive element, allowing fans to choose the ending of a love story.

While the characters involved are still a secret, their fate will be in the hands of the viewers, and the chosen outcome will unfold during the live episode.
