Edwin Arroyave shared a cryptic message on his Instagram Story over the weekend after Teddi Mellencamp announced their impending divorce.
Following the sharing of the 43-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum’s statement, in which she proclaimed that her priority was her kids as she discussed her “next chapter,” Edwin, 47, posted a message about “dark days” and turned his attention to his faith.
“You’re not always going to be motivated or inspired. That’s where rituals [and] habits come in. Having good habits is what will get you through your dark days. It’s when you’re under pressure that your true character is revealed,” read Edwin’s November 3 post, which featured a selfie taken at Hot Yoga.
Hours later, Edwin returned to social media, where he posted a photo of himself with the three children he and Teddi share, Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4.
“Church bound with these beautiful souls,” he captioned the pic, also including a praying-hands emoji and a heart emoji.
Although Teddi decided to end her 13-year marriage over the weekend, she and Edwin appeared to be anything but headed for a split just days prior when they attended the Melanoma Research Foundation’s annual New York City gala.
Along with an Instagram slideshow of the two of them in which they were seen standing together, kissing each other, and dancing, Edwin honored his now-estranged wife with an emotional statement.
“I always say life and pain are inseparable … And to see [Teddi Mellencamp] embrace her pain and use it for the greater good again last night as she emceed the [Cure Melanoma] gala, was a beautiful reminder of what she is capable of,” he wrote on October 25. “Her story has already saved lives. And I couldn’t be prouder that she will continue to save more.”
Teddi and Edwin got married in 2011.
