Emily Atack fans have been left a little hot under the collar with her racy new show Rivals.

The steamy Disney+ series is an adaptation of one of author Jilly Cooper’s “bonkbuster” novels about the exploits – and sexploits – of dashing Rupert Campbell-Black and his friends. Starring Emily, Danny Dyer, Aidan Turner and Alex Hassell, the series includes some seriously steamy scenes, including one where Emily's character Sarah Stratton bares all during a tennis match.

The sizzling drama has fans gripped, with many dropping fire emojis on social media in appreciation of how "hot" it is. "Absolutely love you in this show, very sexy ," one person commented on Emily's Instagram.

Others have questioned if there is a real story behind writer Jilly's tale of life among the super wealthy set in fictional Rutshire - and it turns out the characters were inspired by royalty. In particular, people have been wanting to know who the 'real Rupert' is.

In 2002, the author did tease that she based the main character of Rupert on three people she had come across. These include the 11th Duke of Beaufort, David Somerset, the late 21st Earl of Suffolk 'Mickey' Suffolk, and Andrew Parker Bowles, Queen Camilla's former husband.

"They were a wildly dashing and exciting group," she told The Telegraph at the time. "Their bravery and charisma were the essential elements of Rupert's character." But she made it clear that Rupert's naughty behaviour in her books hadn't come from them.

"His s*****ness was entirely my invention, I hasten to add, and had nothing whatsoever to do with their behaviour," she said.
